Sale School

We met Layla at a community meeting we were invited to in Sale (saw lay), a suburb of Rabat, where she had been invited to interpret for us.  She is a progressive young Moroccan who teaches English in this elementary school.  We bonded, and she invited me out to visit her students.

It was completely wonderful, and I can't wait to go back!

This guy in the center is true joy!  He taught himself English so that he could drink deeper from the American music scene.  He saved and saved, bought himself a nice car, and is now a successful Uber driver!  He would be even MORE successful if he would take payment for carting us around!!  His mother is on his left--she's a dear too--teaches P.E. at this school.

They broke the mold after God finished creating Moroccan children.  Truly.

Charming kid art on the wall.

I loved them--lab coats and all.
