Tree Goats

We were driving with our friend Mo to a far-distant well project out of Marrakech towards Essaouira (that's a mouthful of vowel--just think, you'd never have to "buy one") when I spotted these goats in the tree!  Mo slammed on the brakes, and this friendly Moroccan bounded over to our car awaiting his piece of the action with his outstretched hand.

They didn't appear to be alarmed or distressed in the tree.  I noted their little rustic platforms.

This little kid with the Mona Lisa smile (observed by my astute friend Verena on facebook) added to the charm of the stop.

Mo appears to have a way with goats!  The goat seems at home in spite of the Ute hat.

Mo's nephew, Hassan, looks for all the world to be burping that kid!

Goats in Morocco DO climb argan trees to eat the seeds. Their digestive tract softens the seeds making them easier to grind and extract the oil.

This could very well be the mother.  She is looking a little more concerned about the state of the little than the others.

A block or so down the road was yet another tree of goats, but this one was surrounded by tourists.  Their fancy bus idled on the road.  Methinks this is NOT Mother Nature at work here.

We went straight from tree goats to a very rural rustic village laden with donkeys.  I am drawn to them like a magnet.
