Rabat Walk--Meghan

Our friend Meghan arrived chipper and laden down with treasures and goodies from the U.S.  She is a gem of a friend whom we met during our China Teachers experience.  We have traveled extensively with her in the past and know her to be an all-around wonderful sport!  She speaks pretty decent Manadarin--as evidenced by her new friend here met near Tour Hassan.

We have taken multiple tours around our neighborhood.  At this point we are probably painfully repetitive, but our guests eat it up, so we tour guide gamely on.

I am always looking for new angles in which to catch the guards.

The fishermen were untangling their nets down by the river leading to the ocean.

If I could paint...

Someday this picture will make me so nostalgic.

One of the best parts of the "Neighborhood Tour" is finding charming corners sans people and even sometimes sans cats.

Perhaps these checkers players are off to pray in the mosque.  I like to picture them reconvening and picking right back up.

"Bienvenue, and enjoy your jus d'orange, Meghan."

Marrakech-Patrick & Sue

One of the delights of our mission has been to meet and befriend Rob and Sue.  They are fellow Americans who have come to live and work in Marrakech.  Sue and I took a long walk around the golf course on which they live.  We always have such good conversations and share so many common interests!

This unusual bird strutting along the course seems to defy identification when I show his picture!  I need to find authorities, I guess.

Why do I love this photo of Jerry calling for directions?  It is so symbolic of our daily doings, I guess.

Stepping onto our partner Patrick's territory (both literally and philosophically) here in Marrakech is always a journey for the senses and mind.

We were his guests in his museum.

A display of classic Moroccan tea culture

We lunched in a museum room--vegetarian--and delved into deep Mormon theology.

And then back into the complexities of the medina souks

I took this from about 40 feet away.  I wish I could sit and make hats with her!!!

TinTin and Snowy tucked away in the marketplace!!  Bless the French...
